Meet the team

We are Suki and Steve, a couple that came together through our shared love of food.

Suki grew up working in her family’s restaurants in London and Catalunya. Steve has worked with food for all his professional life, as a chef, social entrepreneur, and cookery teacher. We both love the Mediterranean, and live in Barcelona with our son Rocco.

  • Chef & Founder

Your private chef and cookery teacher. Steve trained as a chef in France, Greece, Spain and the UK. He has worked at 3* El Celler de Can Roca, and 2* The Clove Club. He has worked as a cookery teacher and private chef for the last 10 years in Spain and in the UK, alongside Jamie Oliver, and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, as well as working closely with migrant and refugee chefs as the Head of Chef Training at Migrateful.

  • Host & Founder

Suki grew up between England and Spain, surrounded by good food and hospitality in her family’s restaurants in London and Cadaques, and since then has worked in restaurants around the world including working alongside Russell Norman and Florence Knight. She managed her family restaurant The Abingdon in Kensington, London with her sister and now runs operations from Barcelona. Suki is also a trained masseuse and yoga teacher, and a skilled sommelier.

Our Story

We first set up a supper club, Table on the Water, where we brought our shared love of Mediterranean food, wine, and dining to groups from the roof of our canal boat in London. This reaffirmed that we make an excellent team.

We recognised the strength of our combined forty years of culinary experience, as well as our desire to share our knowledge. This set us on our journey to create remarkable and memorable food experiences that centre around celebrating the Mediterranean way of life.

We moved to Catalunya with the aim of opening a cookery school, and Mediterranean Food Journeys was born.
